Scholar Badge Ceremony – Class XII (Sections A-J, P, Q And R)

Delhi Public School, R.K.Puram hosted the Scholar Badge Ceremony for Class XII on 8th November 2012.. The Scholar Badge Ceremony is an important event in the school’s calendar. It felicitates all achievers, be it in academics, sports and extra curricular activities. The event was marked by the lighting of the lamp by the chief guest, Mr. Ashok Chandra, Chairman of DPS Society and the guest of honour, Mrs. Vandana Mahajan, Director, International Academic Liaisons, University of Toronto. The Principal, Dr. D. R. Saini, warmly welcomed everyone and highlighted the school’s achievements in the past year in the fields of academics and sports and thanked the DPS Society for their continuous support and guidance.

The performance by the school choir and the classical fusion dance left everyone enthralled. Some students of class XII shared their views and laid emphasis on the school’s role in their metamorphosis over the past fourteen years and also highlighted the importance of hard work, perseverance and dedication. A beautiful dance was presented by the students of DPS Shiksha Kendra.

Mr. Chandra laid emphasis on all round development of children and on “helping each child to pursue his passion.” He also expressed his pride in the achievements of the students and the necessity to provide ‘inclusive education’ – equal opportunities to children belonging to all sections of society. He acknowledged the important role played by the school and the parents in nurturing ideal citizens of the country.

The much-awaited award giving ceremony began with Mr. Sachinder Sharma, Representative of Class XII, congratulating the recipients of the various awards. Meritorious students were awarded gold medals, blue ties, blazers and badges for continuous academic excellence and red ties, blazers and badges were given to students excelling in extra-curricular activities like sports, music and dance. The ceremony concluded with the vote of thanks by Vice Principal, Mrs. Shobha Mehta. It was a proud moment for the parents present.
