SCHOLAR BADGE CEREMONY – CLASS XI SECTIONS A, B, C, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T

Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram hosted the Scholar Badge Ceremony of Class XI (Sections A, B, C, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T) for the academic year 2014-2015 on 9 February 2016. The Scholar Badge Ceremony is the most awaited occasion of the year as students are acknowledged for their performance in the previous academic year.

The Chief Guest for the event was Professor B. P. Khandelwal, Member of the DPS Society and DPS R.K. Puram Managing Committee. Mr. Umesh Chander Datta, Deputy Inspector General of Police, CBI was the Guest of Honour. Also present were the Principal, Dr. D.R. Saini and the Vice Principals, Ms. Shobha Mehta , Dr. Renu Nayar and Ms. Padma Srinivasan along with the Class Representatives.

The ceremony commenced with the lighting of the lamp and the felicitation of the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour by the Principal. A harmonious performance was presented by the school orchestra. A video showcasing DPS R.K. Puram’s achievements in the year 2014-15 was presented.

The Principal, Dr. D.R. Saini welcomed the august gathering by delivering a motivational speech and focusing on “Faith in the Almighty”. The NTSE scholars who qualified Stage I were called upon the stage and congratulated for their dedication and hard work along with Ms. Sohini Chakravarty, Incharge of NTSE.

The students of class XI pledged to bring about a change and promised a better future. A phenomenal shloka recitation followed, depicting sacred Sanskrit teachings. Students expressed their thoughts on the importance of education and other school activities. A scintillating dance performance was presented by the Dance club members. An inspirational short film that touched the hearts of the audience, on the theme “we can tackle any problem; all we need is to have belief in ourselves” was shown.

The Chief Guest, Prof B. P. Khandelwal addressed the gathering and shared his views on learning as a lifelong process. The Guest of Honour, Mr. Umesh Chander Datta congratulated all the Scholar Badge achievers and shared his views on the pros and cons of technology.

The Class Representative, Ms. Alinda Holla, conducted the much-awaited awards distribution ceremony. On this auspicious occasion, approximately 320 students received awards for their excellence in the fields of academics, sports and extra-curriculars. The Pranthik Roy Memorial Gold Medal was awarded to Shagun Goel of Class XI-H for being the most outstanding student of Class X.

The Vice Principal, Ms. Shobha Mehta delivered the vote of thanks. The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem.
