Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram hosted the Scholar Badge ceremony for Class X, Sections A-G on 19th December 2013, in the audio visual hall. The chief guest was Prof. B.P. Khandelwal, Member of DPS Society and Managing Committee, DPS R.K.Puram. The Principal, Dr. D R Saini welcomed the chief guest with bouquets.
The ceremony commenced with the lighting of the lamp followed by a mesmerizing performance by the school orchestra. The tiny tots of DPS Shiksha Kendra, a school for the underprivileged run on the premises of DPS R.K.Puram, enthralled everyone with their beautiful dance performance. A short video clip on the achievements of the school was screened.
The Principal, Dr. D. R. Saini warmly welcomed everyone and stressed on the importance of hard work and the role sports plays in the life of a student. This was followed a musical extravaganza which included scintillating dance performances and exhilarating songs which left the audience spellbound. Addressing the students, Prof. B.P. Khandelwal quoted hymns from the Rig-Veda and shared his views on the importance of living in harmony. He also congratulated all the students on their achievements.
The much-awaited award ceremony began with Ms. Anjana Virmani, Representative of Class X, congratulating the recipients of the various awards. Meritorious students were awarded blue blazers and badges for continuous academic excellence and red ties, blazers and badges were given to students excelling in extra-curricular activities like sports, music and dance. The vote of thanks was given by the Headmistress, Ms. Vanita Sehgal. It was a proud moment for the parents present. The ceremony concluded with the national anthem.
