The Scholar Badge Ceremony for class VIII, sections A-F was held on 27 November 2013. The Scholar Badge Ceremony is an annual event where all the students are felicitated for their hard work and perseverance. Dr (Mrs) Sharda Nayak, Member of the DPS Society and Managing Committee of DPS R.K.Puram was the Chief Guest. Ms. Diana Mickeviciene, Minister Counsellor of the Embassy of Lithuania in India also graced the gathering. The Vice Principal, Mrs.Shobha Mehta, The headmistresses, Ms. Vanita Sehgal, and Mrs. Anita Singh were present on the occasion.
The ceremony commenced with a melodious symphony presented by the school orchestra. This was followed by a graceful dance by the students of DPS Shiksha Kendra. A short documentary highlighted the various achievements of the school in the field of academics, sports and foreign admissions. Addressing the gathering, the Principal, Dr. D. R. Saini’s stressed on the need for healthy competition among students.
The programme also included a musical skit presented by the students of class VIII, with a very simple yet essential message- ‘believe in yourself’. The Chief Guest talked about the importance of ‘touching the lives of others’.
Finally, the moment of the much awaited award distribution came and all the meritorious students were awarded their Blue Blazers, Green Badges and certificates for excellence in academics and extra-curricular activities. Ms.Vanita Sehgal delivered the vote of thanks, followed by the national anthem. It was a very proud moment for all the parents.
