Scholar Badge Ceremony Class VII (Sections G-K)

Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram hosted the Scholar Badge ceremony for Class VII, Sections G-K on the 24th of December 2013. The Principal, Dr D.R. Saini welcomed the Chief Guest, Mr D.P. Singh, CMD of Punjab and Sind Bank with a bouquet of flowers.

The ceremony commenced with a scintillating performance by the school orchestra. This was followed by a touching dance performance by the little stars of DPS Shiksha Kendra. A short video clip on the achievements of the school was screened. The students presented an energetic dance performance on the song, ’Khwaab’ followed by the school western choir’s rendition of, ‘Give me hope, Joanna’ which left the audience spellbound. After this, a Hindi skit on the importance of never losing hope was shown before a quirky English musical complete with a British Harry Potter and a rapping Dumbledore.

The Principal emphasized the role of parents and hard work in achieving success using several notable DPS alumni including Shreya Vardhan as examples. The Chief Guest then spoke about how any obstacle can be overcome through sheer grit and determination giving the example of Olympic boxer Mary Kom who despite being a mother of three is planning on competing in the next Olympics.

The much awaited award ceremony began with Ms Mini Rathore, representative of class VII congratulating the recipients of the various awards. Meritorious students were acknowledged for their continuous excellence in academics and extra-curricular activities. The vote of thanks was given by the headmistress Ms Anita Singh who asked parents to imbibe in themselves the ability to listen to their children and proudly proclaimed her belief that 100% of the students would get a Scholar Badge next year. The ceremony concluded with the national anthem.
