Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram hosted the scholar badge ceremony for class VII on the 18th of December 2013.The Scholar Badge ceremony is the most coveted event in the school’s calendar with the prime objective of acknowledging talent and promoting excellence in academics and extra-curricular activities. The chief guest was Dr. (Mrs.) Usha Luthra, Member of the DPS Society and the Managing Committee, DPS R.K. Puram. The Principal, Dr. D R Saini welcomed the guest with a bouquet.
The ceremony commenced with the lighting of the lamp followed by a mesmerizing performance by the school orchestra. The tiny tots of DPS Shiksha Kendra, a school for the underprivileged run on the premises of DPS R.K.Puram, enthralled everyone with their scintillating dance performance. A short video clip on the achievements of the school was screened. The Principal warmly welcomed everyone and shed light on the school’s achievements in the past year in the fields of academics and sports. The school choir performed a melodious symphony on the song, ‘Give me hope, Joanna’ which was followed by a group dance on the song, ‘Khwaab’. An inspring rendition of hope was portrayed through both a Hindi and an English skit which was performed by the immensely talented students of the school.
The chief guest, Dr. (Mrs.) Usha Luthra addressed the gathering and congratulated all the students for their achievements. She emphasized the need for a holistic development and stressed on the importance of character building and sensitization of students besides academic progress.
The much awaited award ceremony began with Mrs. Dimple Menon, Representative of class 7th congratulating the recipients of the various awards. Meritorious students were acknowledged for their continuous excellence in academics and extra-curricular activities like sports, music, and dance. The vote of thanks was given by the Head Mistress, Mrs. Anita Singh. It was a proud moment for the parents present. The ceremony concluded with the national anthem.
