The Scholar Badge ceremony for class IX, Sections A-F was held on 17 February 2015. It is a much awaited event where students receive acknowledgement for excellence in the field of academics as well as extracurricular activities.

The Chief Guest for the event was Dr. Nata Menabde, the WHO Representative to India. Also present on the occasion were the Principal, Dr. D.R. Saini; the Vice-Principal, Ms. Shobha Mehta; the Headmistresses, Ms. Vanita Sehgal and Mrs. Anita Singh; the Vice Principal of DPS Shiksha Kendra, Ms. Pushpa Agarwal ; and the teacher in charges, Ms. Taruna Didi, Ms. Usha Diptivilasa and Ms. Anjana Virmani.

The ceremony commenced with the lighting of the lamp and felicitation of the guests followed by a mellifluous performance by the Indian Orchestra. A clip highlighting the achievements of the students in various fields was shown to the audience. The Principal, Dr. D.R. Saini, addressed the gathering and extended a warm welcome to the audience.

In the cultural programme, the students of DPS Shiksha Kendra enthralled the audience with their scintillating dance performance. The Western Music Choir performed a melodious rendition of an acapella song. This was followed by a dance- drama by the students of class IX depicting the various cultural aspects of India. The students of the Dance Society showcased the different forms of classical and folk dances in India through their mesmerizing performance.

The Chief Guest, Dr. Nata Menabde, while addressing the gathering, expressed her views on children’s health and the importance of ‘World Health Day’. According to her, health is an important matter of concern especially for the youth who are the future of the country. She also talked about the role of WHO in the eradication of diseases.

The Class Representative, Ms. Taruna Didi, conducted the Award Distribution ceremony. The Chief Guest, Dr. Nata Menabde; the Principal, Dr. D.R. Saini and Headmistress, Ms. Vanita Sehgal presented the scholar badges, blazers and certificates to the worthy students.

The Headmistress, Ms. Vanita Sehgal delivered the vote of thanks.The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem.
