Delhi Public School, R. K. Puram hosted the Scholar Badge Ceremony of Class X (Sections A-G) on the 1st of December 2016. The Chief Guest for the event was Mr. Balvinder Kumar, Secretary, Ministry of Mines, Government of India.
The event commenced with the lighting of the lamp and the Chief Guest was welcomed by the school orchestra with a mesmerising music performance. After he was felicitated, a film highlighting the school’s achievements in academics, extra-curriculars, and sports, was shown. The Principal, Ms. Vanita Sehgal, welcomed the Chief Guest and the parents. She congratulated all the students writing books, amongst various other achievements.
In the cultural program, there was a beautiful dance and mime performance. The school choir also performed a moving melody. The Chief Guest, Mr Balvinder Kumar congratulated the students. He shared many anecdotes of his personal life and talked about the problem of stress among students and gave them tips on how to lead a healthy life.
The Chief Guest, Mr. Balvinder Kumar, the Principal, Ms. Vanita Sehgal and the Vice Principal, Ms. Anita Singh, presented the awards to the worthy students for continuous academic and extracurricular excellence. Ms Sunita Johar, the class representative, conducted the Award Distribution ceremony.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Ms. Anita Singh, who congratulated all the students and parents. The Principal appreciated the efforts of the teachers, and all those present. The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem.
