The Sanskrit Department celebrated ‘Sanskrit Week’ from 3rd August to 9th August 2017. The closing ceremony was held on 9 August 2017. A grand cultural extravaganza was presented by the Sanskrit Students from Classes VI to XI .
The programme commenced with a Ganesh and Saraswati Vandana by the students of Classes IX and XI. Mrs Rashmi Malhotra, Headmistress addressed the gathering and encouraged the participants. Thereafter, the students of Classes VII & VIII presented a patriotic song with great fervour. A skit ‘Swachh Bharat’ based on conservation of environment was presented by the students of Classes VII and IX under the able guidance of Mr. B. P. Pandey. The students of Class IX depicted the importance of Sanskrit in modern day scenario through a power point presentation.
The audience was enthralled by a contemporary song ‘Bhati Sarsam’ and the rendition of a modern poem ‘Googlam Sharanam Vraj’ in Sanskrit presented by the students of Class IX. The 1st position holders of Inter class and Inter section Competitions for classes VI to X held during the Sanskrit Week recited melodious shlokas from the Bhagwad Gita. A fusion dance of ‘Shiv Stuti’ and ‘Shiv Tandava’ was presented by the girls of Class VIII to celebrate the month of ‘Shravana’.
The programme culminated with the vote of thanks given by by the HOD Sanskrit, Mrs Amla Thukral.
