Python Workshop for CS Teachers

Delhi Public School, R.K.Puram organised a One Day Python Workshop for the Computer Science Teachers of various schools on Wednesday, 27th June, 2018 in the light of change of Computer Science and Informatics Practices curriculum by CBSE. 350 Teachers from Delhi, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Noida, Palwal, Sonipat, Bahadurgarh, Jaipur, Varanasi, Kalyanpur, Ajmer, Kuwait and Jeddah online registered for the workshop, out of which 261 Teachers participated in the same.

The Workshop started with a welcome address by Dr. Renu Nayar, Vice Principal. In her address, she emphasized on the need of learning new things and updating knowledge specially in the field of technology.

The Workshop Session 1 was conducted by Mr. Mukesh Kumar, where he covered the Python Programming with the help of simple and interesting examples. He also discussed about the similarities and differences between other languages like C++ and Java. Session 2 was continued by him with the advanced aspects of Python Programming followed by Introduction to Python Pandas by Mrs. Gurpreet Kaur, Subject Expert from G.D.Goenka Public School, Vasant Kunj. Session 3 comprised of examples of Python Pandas commands and applications by Mrs. Gurpreet. The Session 4 was conducted by Mr. Mohitendra Dey on MYSQL & MongoDB concepts and applications alongwith Database connectivity with Python.

Each session of the workshop was appreciated by all the participants. All the participants thanked the initiative taken by Ms. Vanita Sehgal, the Principal, DPS RK Puram and the efforts of the resource persons.

The programme would not have been successful without the support and efforts of DPS RKPuram Computer Science Teachers – Ms. Sangeeta Rana, Ms. Shalini Harisukh and Ms. Anajana Virmani alongwith the Tech Admin Staff – Mr. Thomas CA, Mr. Diny Mathew, Mr. K.V.Joseph and Mr. Shankar Giri.

The workshop ended with distribution of the Certificates and group photographs of the participants with the resource persons.
