“Happiness is a choice. Optimism is a choice. Kindness is a choice. Giving is a choice. Respect is a choice. Whatever choice you make, makes you.”

We have all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act on. That’s who we really are. Class 7 G presented their Class assembly based on the different choices children make and conveyed the message in the form of a scintillating dance performance, melodious song and a small skit.

TOPIC: It’s Always Darkest Before The Dawn.

It is rightly said by Peter Marshall ,“When we long for life without difficulties, remind us that oaks grow strong in contrary winds and diamonds are made under pressure.” At times when things fall apart it is not to punish us but to prompt us to build something better that  suits our personality and purpose, so never be scared of challenges.  The assembly tries to convey that difficulties of life do not keep you from greatness; they show you to it’s door.

‘I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it’-said Evelyn Beatrice Hall.
LIVE AND LET LIVE is a concept often used loosely by all and sundry, but not necessarily understood by all. Leading a life of personal freedom and morally sound principles, while not encroaching on another’s right to do the same, is something one would think belongs to a utopian society. However, this concept is not as far-fetched as one might first think. It requires a certain sense of maturity and tolerance to accept other people’s views, opinions and habits even if they don’t match our own. We may not agree with or understand other people’s opinions and way of living, but we still need to accept them.
This message was aptly expressed by classes XI- S and XI- T in the form of poetry, dance and music, the best methods of conveying matters of great relevance in today’s strife torn world.

Topic: Spirit of Christmas- Service Before Self

The true spirit of Christmas lies in service before self. Christmas is not just a time for festivity and merry making, it’s more than that. It is a time for the contemplation of eternal values. The Christmas spirit is a value of sharing and caring, it’s a spirit of spreading joy and serving others before ourselves.

Topic: Every Artist Was Once An Amateur

The topic,” Every artist was once an amateur” is a thought provoking quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson. Famous personalities like Shri Narendra Modi, Albert Einstein, Leonardo Da Vinci, Michael Jackson, Lionel Messi etc., have reached unparalleled heights in their respective fields. Don’t forget, all these masters were once beginners. This topic was chosen in order to convey to all the fellow students that they maybe amateurs today but with their hard work and persistent efforts they can and surely will become the masters of their game tomorrow. The journey to achieve the goals may not be easy but the rewards will be worth all the efforts. So just believe in yourself and begin now!

What is the difference between an obstacle and an opportunity? It is our attitude. It is rightly said,

to put the world in order we must first put the nation in order, to put the nation in order we must first put the family in order, to put the family in order we must first cultivate our personal lives, we must first set our hearts right.

“Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues but the parent of all others” wrote Roman philosopher Cicero. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow. The assembly tries to signify the importance of appreciating and  being grateful for things around us, our achievements, our failures,  our family and friends along with the food on the table and the air we breathe.
