Topic: Stars Can’t Shine Wihout Darkness

Obstacles are placed strategically in our lives to see if what we want is really worth fighting for. If you find a path with no obstacles, it probably doesn’t lead anywhere. The greater the challenge, the more glory in overcoming it. We don’t grow when things are easy; we grow when we face hardships in life. Problems don’t have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don’t turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it. Go through it. Or walk around it. Success isn’t measured by what you achieve; it’s measured by the difficulties you overcome.

TOPIC: Confluence of Life and Literature.

The connection between literature and life is intimate and vital.  It is one of the trails blazed by the human spirit voyaging through strange seas of thoughts. Literature grows out of life, reacts upon life and is fed by life. Literature should lead the people forward to a higher plane of life and thought, by drawing the attention of the people to the emerging truths of life. That is what Walt Whitman meant when he said that the object of literature is “to free, arouse and dilate the human mind”. Literature, in this sense, must emancipate the mind from its limitations; arouse it to a consciousness of the dynamic urge of life.

Topic: Be a Rainbow in Someone’s Cloud

This famous quote by Maya Angelou consists of a deep metaphor where a colorful rainbow represents happiness and positivity, while the dark clouds represent the problems people have in their life. The assembly tries to tell us that we need to be there for others when they need us the most. It is all about kindness, purity of the heart, unselfishness, humility and the joy of giving.

TOPIC: Beyond Pink And Blue

We realise that there lies a great divide between what society expects a particular gender  to do. These gender rules have been ingrained in our minds right from the birth. It is time we break these barriers set up by society. It all depends on us. We can keep screaming , shouting and raising our voices but it will have no impact if no one truly listens. Change can only happen if we embrace it and realise that there is a world beyond pink and blue.

Topic: Don’t Limit Your Challenges, Challenge Your Limits

Today, there aren’t many people who challenge themselves, who routinely expand their minds in order to keep the big picture of their life’s purpose ever before them. Groping in darkness, they blindly choose to let life “happen” to them rather than making life “happen” for them. One should discover and develop hidden talents (one won’t know that they exist until they actively look for them). Challenge yourself by taking on newer and greater responsibilities. Whatever your goals are, don’t get frustrated by trials and obstacles – expect them, use them to build perseverance, patience and success will be yours.
