TRYST 2018, IIT Delhi

Team Tersus comprising of Arush Bansal (X1C), Vishrut Malik(12J) and Akshat Pandey( 12G)developed and presented Averso at Tryst 2018 , IIT Delhi. Tryst is the annual technical festival of the IIT Delhi, held from 26-28 February 2018. The festival is the largest technical fest of India with a footfall of more than 45,000 people from different schools and universities around the world.

The team from DPS, RK Puram  was the Winner of the Fake Research Event that is the International Research Competition and Runners Up in the Paper Presentation Event on Sustainable Development.

They developed and presented Averso, which can be incorporated in Wildfires Systems, thereby protecting the environment from damages cause by wildfires. It is a combination of a device and a relay tower for processing data and transmitting it to the respective authorities. The device contains a combination of hydrogen sensors, IR sensors and mobile phones to form a transmission network between devices and relay towers. It also uses an amplified sound detection system for detection of illegal logging of wood. 

The students were praised for their prototypes and phenomenal research paper on early detection of wildfires and illegal logging. They were awarded certificates and a cash prize of INR 10,000.



Sanskrit Kavyali Competition

Sanskrit Kavyali Competition (Zonal level) of Delhi Sanskrit Academy held in Oct 2017. Shreya Shankar (VI-D), Oorja Akshara (VII- A), Divyakshi Adhikari (VII-G), Manya Sarin (VIII-B), Aditya Kakkar (VIII-B), Byapti Sidhhant (VIII-B), Aditya Mittal (VIII-B) and Aryan (VII-F) won First position under the guidance of Mr. Hamid Khan.



Sanskrit Solo Shlok Sangeet Pratiyogita

Sanskrit Solo Shlok Sangeet Pratiyogita (Zonal Level) of Delhi Sanskrit Academy was held in Oct 2017. Tejas Sajwan received Protsahan Puraskaar in the competiton. Abhinav Bhatt received 2nd prize in Sanskrit Bhashan Pratiyogita (Zonal level).



Sanskrit Shloka Sangeet Pratiyogita

Shloka Sangeet Pratiyogita (Zonal Level) of Delhi Sanskrit Academy was held in Oct 2017. The prize distribution was held on 19 Feb 2018. Anya Aggarwal, Anusha Gupta, Anya Tripathi, Medha Chandra, Ananya Kaushik and Srishti Srivastava bagged 3rd position in the competition.



Poetry and Story Writing Competition

Sahitya Akademi,  New Delhi organised a State Level Interschool Poetry and Story Writing Competition on 17 February, 2018 at Ravindra Bhavan, New Delhi.

A total of 26 students from DPS R K Puram ,accompanied by Mrs. Fatma Kirmani ( Incharge, Samvaad Hind Club) and Dr. P. Chinna ,participated in the event. There were around 1000 students in the Senior and Junior Categories from various schools of Delhi.

5 students of DPS R K Puram won the prizes in both the categories:

  1. Syed Momin Iqbal XII-B (Chief Editor,Hindi Editorial Board ) 1st prize  Poetry Writing (Senior Category)
  2. Neha Gautam XI-X  –  3rd prize Poetry Writing (Senior Category)
  3. Swarnika Bhardwaj VI- E  2nd prize Poetry Writing (Junior Category)
  4. Kanishka VI-C –  3rd prize Poetry Writing (Junior Category)
  5. Aarya Shrivastav VI-C – 3rd prize Poetry Writing (Junior Category)

There were cash prizes of Rs.1000, 800 and 600 for the first, second and third positions respectively. The winners were awarded with special Merit Certificates. Participation Certificates were provided to all the participants.
