YOUNGEST MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKER AT IIT DELHI EDC

It’s a Moment of Pride for all of us that Siddharth Sethi, a student of X-C is the Youngest Motivational Speaker (15 years ) at the Showcase and Summit (of national and international repute and stature) organized by IIT Delhi EDC.

The Indian Institute Of Technology – IIT Delhi EDC invited Siddharth Sethi at it’s annual flagship E-summit 2016 organised @ IIT Delhi Campus from March 11-13,2016 and Grand Startup Showcase finale held at Hotel Le Meridien, New Delhi on 24 April 2016 to conduct a Motivational Session.

The audience was a mix of students , teachers , venture capitalists , corporates , senior professionals, trainers , coaches , investors, industry leaders etc.

Siddharth Sethi conducted a very informative , thought provoking , inspiring interactive session He also inspired and further entertained the audience with his scintillating guitar performance along with Vocal recital of his song, ‘Aashaye ….’

Siddharth was very well received and appreciated for his narratives full of motivation- an Evocation across all sections of the Audience.

A few of the sub-sections of this session were : Science and Spirituality : Startups Success Mantra : Indian Roots – Values : Ethics: Teachings from Mahabharata: Power of Positive Thoughts: Human Potential etc.

The events were sponsored by world renowned corporations such as Kotak Mahindra Bank, Accel Partners , Ivy Camps , Nasscom etc

Siddharth was honoured with a Bouquet as a Special Invitee , A Certificate of Excellence , a Certificate for being the Youngest Motivational Speaker and presented with a Trophy.



FIRST IN “IRIDESCENCE”

On the 19th of July 2016, Carmel Convent School, Malcha Marg , hosted “Dance Upon A Time’16” , a western and fusion dance competition, a part of “Iridescence”, their annual Interschool Competition. DPS R.K.Puram bagged the 1st prize . This event was open to students of classes 8th to 12th of schools from Delhi and the NCR region. They were invited to compete by staging performances on the theme “Panchatatva – the 5 elements of life” .

The western dance society of our school got together a troupe of classically and ballet-jazz trained dancers to put together a piece representing “the great 5 elements : bhumi(earth) , jal (water) , agni (fire) , pavan (air) and aakash (ether).” Combining strategically different dance styles with various props, costumes and other accessories to support the performance , the following 11 students from classes 10th and 11th participated :

Mrs.Aditi Roy Sarkar , the Head of the Department of music accompanied the students. DPS RK Puram was declared the winner by the judges who applauded the performance, especially it’s synchronization , technique and the concept. They also made a special mention of Kanika the ballerina , Shreya “the girl who eats rubber” and Jaidev for their unique and performance.



THEATRE STUDENTS SHINE AT CARMEL CONVENT

The students of Expressions Theatre Club participated in the Inter-School Theatre Competition at Carmel Convent School, Chanakyapuri on Monday, 18th July 2016. A team of ten students comprising Geetansh Sahni (XII-P), Rishika Sharma (XII-R), Kanav Sahni (XII-U), Tanoy Majumdar (XII-M), Anveshika Sahi (XI-W), Dyujoy Majumdar (XI-G), Devanshi Tiwary (XI-U), Ishita Agnihotri (XI-B), Shivam Chopra (XI-P) and Niket Khadagawat (XI-E) bagged the second position in the street play event. The students had prepared a ten minute Street Play on the topic, ‘Humein Kya?’. The judges praised the team for their exceptional communication skills, stage presence and innovative approach towards the theme. They were guided and inspired by the Principal, Ms, Vanita Sehgal and by Ms. Sudeepta Chatterjee, teacher-in-charge Expressions Theatre Club.



BHAGAVAD GEETA QUIZ CONTEST

An Inter school Bhagavad Geeta Quiz contest was organized by ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) for the students of classes VI-VIII in which more then 100 students of DPS R.K. Puram took part.

Turrag Dewan of class VII stood First
Anviksha Dev of class VII was second and
Raaghav Sawhney of class VII stood third in this contest.

The purpose of this contest was to make the students aware about the teachings and deep philosophy of the Geeta.



IOEL 2016 SCHOOL TOPPERS

The outstanding students from our school have brought in lots of laurels and accolades in the International Olympiad of English Language (iOEL), organised by Silver-Zone Foundation, competing with their counterparts within all sections from their respective classes of our school and carved a niche for themselves in the above Olympiad. They won a total of 27 medals, seven each for Bronze, Silver and Gold. The participants, who have secured the class rank as 1st, 2nd or 3rd are rewarded with Gold, Silver and Bronze medals respectively

The students of Expressions Theatre Club participated in the Inter-school Theatre, Debate and Photography competition, ‘StageKraft’ at Sanskriti School, Chanakyapuri on Friday, 15th July 2016. A team of 10 students comprising Geetansh Sahni (XII-P), Janya Sindhu (XII-R), Ridhima Narang (XII-X), Mahir Hora (XII-P), Shourye Shahi (XII-V), Arnav Singh (XI-K), Stuti Banga (XI-X), Gayatri Raghunandan (XI-X), Mohammad Osaid (XI-T) and Zaina Ali (XI-U) bagged the first position in the event, ‘Nukkad Natak’. The students had prepared a ten minute Street Play on ‘Reservation’. The judges praised the team for their exceptional communication skills, stage presence and innovative approach towards the theme. They were encouraged and mentored by Ms. Vanita Sehgal, the Principal and Ms. Sudeepta Chatterjee, Teacher-In-Charge, Expressions Theatre Club.



2ND RANK IN THE UNIFIED INTERNATIONAL ENGLISH OLYMPIAD 2016

Aarshia Gupta of Class VI K appeared for the Unified International English Olympiad 2016 on November 6, 2015 and has secured the All India rank 2 in the same. Aarshia has earlier won the bronze medal in IEO in Class 4. She was also ranked 7th in the Spell Bee International level competition in the same year.



MATHEMANIA 2016- INTERSCHOOL MATHEMATICS COMPETITION

The students of DPS R.K. Puram participated in various events of “Mathemania” organised by Gyan Bharati School, Saket, on Friday, 8th July 2016.The event was attended by a 7 member team and the accompanying teacher was Mrs. S.K.N Lakshmi. The following are the details:
