The Geography department held an exhibition on “LANDFORMS MADE BY ENDOGENIC AND EXOGENIC FORCES” on Friday 28th August 2015 in the junior science lab to showcase the hands-on activity of the students of Class VII. The event was coordinated by Mrs Sangita Bajpai. The exhibition was inaugurated by the Principal, Dr D.R. Saini, and blessed by Dr Pramila Srivastava in the gracious presence of the Head mistress Mrs Anita Singh and Mrs Rupa Das, Head of Deparment. of Geography . A large number of staff members from all departments, the S.B.I. bank manager of DPS branch and a few parents appreciated the students efforts at recycling material and creating ingenious models. A variety of volcanoes ,river features, delta, glaciers, beaches, sea cliffs, stacks, mushroom rocks, sand dunes etc which were displayed by the students.



Teachers’ Day was celebrated with great fervor at DPS R.K.Puram. A fun-filled cultural programme was arranged by the students consisting of various dances and a skit. Later, the school appointees acted as teachers and maintained discipline in the school, taking charge of the various classes.

Nine teachers of DPS R.K.Puram, namely Mr.Anil Kathuria, Mr.Tijo Jacob, Mrs.Vandana Chandoke, Dr.Atika Dayal, Mrs. Nita Kumar, Mrs Mini Rathore, Mrs.Vinita Gupta, Mrs Anjana Virmani and Mrs.Pooja Khanduja were felicitated with a Role Model Teachers Award 2015 by the Principal. They were presented with a stole, a certificate and a cash award of Rs.25,000 each. The whole faculty watched the Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s interaction with school students.

It was a day when the whole school paid tribute to its teachers and faculty members.


The Investiture Ceremony of Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram was held on the 3rd of September, 2015. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mr. V.K. Shunglu, the Chairman of the DPS Society. The event commenced with the inaugural lighting of the lamp by the honourable Chief Guest, who was warmly welcomed by the Principal, Dr. D.R. Saini; the Vice Principal, Ms. Shobha Mehta; and Headmistresses, Ms. Vanita Sehgal and Ms. Anita Singh.
The Chairman, Mr. V.K. Shunglu, administered the oath of allegiance whereby the newly appointed duty holders promised to carry out their responsibilities with integrity and dedication, and to uphold the glorious name of the school. The school orchestra then gave a captivating performance.

The Head Boys and Head Girls talked about the school and its feats, inspiring students to shoot for the stars. The Indian and the Western choirs enthralled the audience with their respective performances. The diverse cultural heritage of the Indian states was exuberantly depicted through numerous dances by the students.

The school felicitated the outstanding achievers, those who scored 100% in various subjects in the Class XII CBSE Board Examinations 2015 and those who made us proud in sports and in various other realms. Students won laurels in National and International competitions and events such golf, squash, swimming, chess and informatics.

The Chief Guest addressed the gathering, congratulated achievers and enlightened the students with his words of wisdom. He also talked about upgrading the infrastructure of the school. The vote of thanks was delivered by the Vice Principal, Ms. Shobha Mehta. The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem.

Every year, our school makes it a point to recognize and applaud the efforts of various students who have worked hard to uphold the stature of the school

The Sanskrit Club and Sanskrit Department of Delhi Public School, R K Puram celebrated Sanskrit Week from 26th August to 1st September 2015

On 31st August 2015, Sanskrit Diwas Samaroha was held on the premises of DPS R.K.Puram with great enthusiasm .Dr Baldevanand Sagar, an eminent personality in the field of Sanskrit Media, was the Chief Guest.

The Principal, Dr.D.R.Saini welcomed the Chief Guest and addressed the students with his encouraging words.

All the Sanskrit students of classes VI to X presented a cultural programme comprising the Ganesh Vandana , Pushpanjali dance ,Sanskrit songs, Shloka recital and a fancy dress-show. In the end, the Sanskrit Club founder Shreyasi Seth of Class XII C recited her self composed poem.

The Chief Guest in his speech appreciated the efforts of the students and emphasized on the importance of making the Sanskrit language popular.


Swargadeep Kobiraj joined DPS R.K. Puram in Class VI. Always a meritorious student, Swargadeep soon excelled academically in the new environment. He was an excellent swimmer and enjoyed all sorts of sports though cricket remained his passion. He learnt to respect the Tabla as a musical instrument and soon developed a love for it. He played in many school functions. He was a budding Tabla player in the school. His untimely demise at the age of fourteen when he was in Class IX has left a great void amongst us. In respect to his memory “Swargadeep Memorial Annual Interschool Indian Instrumental Music Competition” was organized on 24th August 2015 at DPS R. K. Puram.

Pt. Ram Kumar Mishra, Dr. Gopal Krishan Shah and Shri Vineet Goswami were the judges for the event. The Judges unanimously applauded the cause and the excellent performances by the students and felt that there was a lot of talent to be worked upon.
