A delegation of 8 students and 2 teachers,Mrs. Ji Young Park and Mr. Huang Dong Kyu from the Anyang Foreign Language High School in South Korea, visited DPS RK Puram from 11th to 15th February this year.
This ongoing Indo-Korean exchange Programme, which began in 2004, endeavours to inculcate amongst the participants, a deeper understanding and appreciation of both the cultures, their history, customs, cuisine, music and dance, and developments in the fields of science and technology. This is the 7th visit of the Korean teachers and students to our school. Our students have also visited South Korea seven times, and will be making the reciprocal visit to AFLHS later this year.
The Korean students stayed with the families of our students, and gained an inside view of the Indian way of life. The group also visited places of historical and cultural interest, such as India Gate, Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Akshardham temple, and Dilli Haat. A day-trip to Agra was organized, where they visited the Taj Mahal, and IsKon Temple in Vrindavan. A special cultural programme was also held in the school, in which both the Indian and Korean students showcased their cultural heritage through scintillating dance and music performances. The Korean students also presented a fashion show on traditional Korean costumes, and showed a PowerPoint presentation on Korea and their school.
This visit was memorable as it was enriching, and over-all a great learning experience for all the students and teachers involved.
