Investiture Ceremony 2018

Leaders become great, not because of their power, but because of their ability to empower others.

The Investiture Ceremony of Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram was held on 16 May 2018.

The event commenced with a phenomenal performance by the school orchestra, which created a lively atmosphere. The Chief Guest, Shri V.K. Shunglu, Chairman of the DPS Society and DPS R.K.Puram Managing Committee, was felicitated with a token of appreciation by the Principal, Ms. Vanita Sehgal. He was also presented with a painting by a student of Delhi Public School, Vasant Vihar.

The Principal addressed the gathering, expressing her gratitude towards the Chairman, Shri V.K. Shunglu, for his undying support . She quoted Paulo Coelho, “When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it,” as a way of congratulating the appointees and appreciating the efforts that have been put in, leading to this achievement. She emphasised the importance of setting priorities in a student’s life, advising them not to fear failure, but dormancy.

This was followed by a dance performance showcasing the cultural diversity of India which captivated the audience.

The Chairman, Shri V.K. Shunglu, felt blessed that he had been associated with education for many years. He appreciated the dynamic atmosphere of the school and said that the opportunities and exposure provided to the students by the school made their personalities wholesome.

The School Appointees were then felicitated by the Chairman, the Principal, Vice Principals and the Headmistress. The Chairman administered the Oath of office, whereby the students pledged to carry out their responsibilities with integrity and dedication, so as to uphold the glorious name of the school and country.

This was followed by motivational speeches given by the student leaders, who were filled with a sense of responsibility towards the school.

Vice Principals, Ms. Renu Nayar, Ms. Padma Srinivasan and Ms. Anita Singh alongwith the  Headmistress, Ms. Rashmi Malhotra, congratulated the new appointees and reminded them that this was a stepping stone for their future endeavours in life.

The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem.
