Department of Biotechnology, Government Of India and TERI-Deakin Nanobiotechnology Centre organized an International Conference on 20-21 November 2017 at India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road. Various diagnostic and therapeutic uses of nanoparticles in agriculture were highlighted by eminent scientists from Indian institutes and Deakin University, Australia.
On the first day, topics like Nanonutrients, Nanopesticides, Intelligent nanomaterials, Lab-on-Chip platform for efficient & automated farming (LEAF), Nanotization of phytoactive compounds, Nanosensors for food safety were highlighted.
On the second day, Nanotoxicity, Safety & concerns of Nanopesticides and Regulations in Nanotechnology were discussed.
The following students of Class XI and XII along with their teacher Ms Niva Chhonkar attended the programme: Astha Bansal, Aashi, Devyansh Nayer, Pranjal Agarwal, L. Sailo, Aryan Sharma, Arindam Mishra, Shubham Purwar, Yash Agarwal, Yash Gupta, Vikram Iyer and Samas Rehan
It was a great learning experience for the students and their interaction with the eminent research scientists generated more curiosity towards the topic.
