D.P.S. R.K.Puram celebrated World Mental Health Day on 10th October 2017 to spread awareness and education of mental health and disorders. WMHD was an initiative started by the World Federation for Mental Health to create worldwide awareness of mental health issues.
The day commenced with the psychology students of the school preparing bookmarks, collages and articles on issues related to mental health. An exhibition was displayed, featuring boards packed with articles, stories, facts and sketches aimed at drawing attention towards the issue of mental health. Bookmarks with uplifting quotes, case profiles which provided in-depth information about an individual, and a life satisfaction checklist was distributed to both teachers and students. The exhibition was inaugurated by the Principal, Ms. Vanita Sehgal.
The message conveyed through the exhibition was: Shatter the stigma, mend the mind.
