Delhi Public School Vasant Kunj hosted an environment fest on 27th April 2011 to show their concern towards global conservation. The fest included a variety of competitions such as mad ad, group song, fashion show, short film, skit etc. So the students of DPS R. K. Puram took part in this fest to show support for the cause.
On the day of the event, we, the participants accompanied by Rajesh sir and Annie ma’am were greeted warmly by the students of DPS V.K.. The theme was set and after registration we were guided to our respected venues. For the group song, we performed in their open-air theatre and so it was like our own live concert! It was a really good experience. And I am proud to tell you, it was our first ever-official girls band of the school with around 9 girl vocalists who put up a self-composition by Rajesh sir in the group song category. We performed second and also got the second prize! Wohoo!. The host school, DPS V.K. who performed the famous Earth song took the first prize. Other teams from Dps Noida, Ryan International school, Dps Gurgaon etc. also put up great performances!
After all the results were declared, refreshments were provided and then we were escorted to the mini auditorium for the valedictory ceremony. The chief guest was our very own chairman of the DPS Society, Mr. Ashok Chandra seated next to the Principal, Mrs. Bindu Sehgal and other guests of honor. They all gave wonderful speeches inspiring us to do our bit towards saving the environment and telling us how much every thought counts. We got the opportunity to see the winners of the various rounds put up their thrilling acts again for all of us to see! All of us girls who got second runners up, along with Rajesh sir were called up on stage to collect our individual trophies and certificates and pose for a photograph! As soon as we got off stage, we had to rush back to school just in time for everybody to catch their ride back home! So it was just another day and another victory for the best school in town, Delhi Public School RK Puram. Cheers to that!
