Air Pollution is a serious health issue. Keeping this in mind ‘Harit Diwali- Swasth Diwali’ Campaign was carried out in the Junior Schools of DPS at Vasant Vihar and East of Kailash and Senior School at RK.Puram to sensitize the students to minimize the bursting of Fire crackers and suggest alternatives to celebrate ‘Green Diwali’. Special message on Air pollution, issues related to firecrackers and how to reduce Air pollution were discussed in the Assembly on November 1,2018. A Power Point Presentation with harmful effects of bursting crackers was shown. ‘Green Pledge’ was taken during the Assembly time everyday and the entire School took ‘Green Pledge’ administered by the Principal.
Activities like Slogan Writing, Poster Making, Role Play were carried out in the Work Ex Period. In the Junior Schools also activities like Painting of Diyas, Poster making, Slogan writing and Making Ganesha Cards were carried out. Teachers of Classes VI to XII had an Interactive session with students on general impact of Fire Crackers, Air Quality & Air pollution related issues in the Homeroom period.
Video on ‘Say NO to Fire Crackers’ was shown through Smart Board. Standees with ‘Anti Fire Cracker’ Message were displayed. The activities were coordinated by Ms Niva Chhonkar, Incharge-Environment Club.
