DPS R.K.Puram promotes ‘Eat Right Movement’ by FSSAI

Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI)  lead a massive mobilization drive through the largest ever Pan India Cycle Rally – the ‘Swasth Bharat Yatra’ bringing alive Mahatma Gandhi’s dream of a healthier India on Gandhiji’s 150th Birth Anniversary. In keeping with the philosophy and spirit of the ‘Swasth Bharat Yatra’ as a people’s movement, the launch event was organised on 16 October 2018 at FDA Bhawan, New Delhi.

Students of DPS RK Puram participated in the launch event and spoke about the ‘SNF @School’ activities under ‘Eat Right Movement’ and made a strong pitch for promoting right eating habits, pointing to the alarming increase in food related lifestyle diseases. The students visited the ‘Experience Zone’. The FSSAI ‘Experience Zone’ is a digital interactive walkthrough of India’s food safety ecosystem. They also pledged to eat less of fats, sugar and salt and to focus on healthy food options.

Mr. Pawan Agarwal, CEO FSSAI, Mr. S C Barmma, Joint Secretary-Ministry of Culture and Ms. Madhavi Das, Chief Management Services Officer FSSAI were present at the launch.

The Programme was attended by Inayat Kaur of Class V and Himanshi of Class III from DPS Vasant Vihar along with their teacher Ms Rattan Obhrai, Health & Wellness Coordinator.

Gurmani Kaur VII E, Gurnika Kaur X N, Simran Dhaliwal XI A, Siddhant Parekh XI D and Aanya Trehan XI S, along with Ms Niva Chhonkar, Head-Biology Department from DPS R.K.Puram attended the programme.
