‘Join the greens’, an IGL Initiative to foster awareness on environment care among students through interactive programs was hosted by Delhi Public School, RK Puram on August 6, 2018 . Indraprastha Gas Limited or IGL is a name synonymous with cleaner fuels. With a strong commitment to build a greener environment in Delhi NCR, it has established a network of CNG and PNG to energize the capital’s homes, industries and transportation. IGL believes that schools are the cradle of change.
Two competitions were organised Environmental IGL Quiz Mania for Classes VII & VIII and Pecha Kucha – Extempore Power Point Presentation for Class XI. The topics included all the aspects of Environment like Pollution- causes, effect & prevention, Conservation of resources, Alternate sources of energy, Art & culture, E- Billing, Fuels, Artificial Intelligence, CNG, PNG. The competitions aimed to sensitize the students on environmental issues, showcase their hidden talents, enhance their leadership qualities, develop team spirit, get into healthy competition and be a green champ.
The IGL dignitaries for the event, Mr. Rajiv Sikka, Director Commercial for IGL, Mr. PK Pandey, Vice President, Marketing, Mr. Bhudev Singh, Chief General Manager, Marketing and Mr. Y. Subhash, Chief Manager, Marketing, were welcomed by the Principal, Ms Vanita Sehgal, Vice Principals, Ms. Padma Srinivasan and Ms. Anita Singh.
A Video presentation was shown to the students by the IGL on the importance of Clean Natural Fuels.
The following students were selected to represent school at State level Competition. Environment Quiz Finalists were Abhishek Agarwal VII A, Abhyuday Vadehra VII D, Anish Narang VII E, Pranav Aneja VII K, Aditya Bauba VIII C & Agastya Nath VIII F.
Nandini Parashar & Siddhant Parekh of XI D won Pecha Kucha Event.
The programme was organised by Ms Niva Chhonkar Head, Biology Department & Ms Dimple Menon, Environment Club Coordinator.
