Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram Celebrates Earth Day

The students of DPS RK Puram celebrated Earth Day on 4th May 2012 with a Special Assembly and a Sapling Plantation Drive. Students from Hope Hall Foundation School, R.K. Puram along with their Environment club teacher were invited for the programme. They presented an Earth Day message and a poem during the assembly.

The Assembly Programme included a video on environmental issues, environment friendly tips by students and a skit on organic sustainable products. The environment magazine “Terravision” was released by the Principal, Dr D R Saini. Dr Saini highlighted that Earth Day celebration is a way to show respect for Mother Earth and it should be celebrated everyday by following eco-friendly practices. The programme ended with a pledge taken by the audience to be environmentally responsible citizens.

The students of DPS R.K. Puram and Hope Hall Foundation School carried out a plantation drive in the school campus with the Principal, Dr Saini; Vice Principal, Mrs. Shobha Mehta; Headmistresses, Ms Vanita Sehgal and Ms Anita Singh and Head of the Biology Department, Mr S.K. Arora.
