DPS R K Puram celebrated the Constitution Day of India on 26 November 2015. The Principal, Dr. D. R. Saini, addressed the students and teachers and briefly stated the significance of celebrating the Constitution Day. To honour our democracy, he led the school in taking a pledge by reciting the Preamble to the Constitution. The students and staff repeated the pledge after him.
Dr. Saini, inaugurated an exhibition put up by the department of Political Science, highlighting the significance of the Constitution, its salient features and the contribution made by the esteemed members of the Constituent Assembly. To mark the occasion a poster making competition was organised to illustrate the messages contained in the Preamble to the Indian Constitution. Through their posters, students expressed their love for India and highlighted those areas of social life where stringent laws are still required, conveying how our Constitution is a living document capable of adapting to suit the requirements of the changing times.
A copy of the original Constitution of India was put on display alongside the Constitution of the School, prepared by students of class VIII highlighting rules, rights and duties as well as activities related to school life.
The members of the Amnesty Club of the school worked hard to make the Constitution Day Celebrations 2015 a grand success.
