“Microsoft Office WORLDWIDE COMPETITION Awards”

Compudon was a competition organized by Certiport in affiliation with Microsoft. This contest was India’s first ever official championship on Microsoft Office, and put to test the students’ knowledge and expertise on various MS Office applications: Word, Powerpoint and Excel.

In its first run itself, 8 students from Delhi Public School, R. K. Puram made it to the top 75 in India. All of them were awarded ‘Finalist Recognition’ certificates and medals. The students are: Ishan Sharma (gold medal: MS Powerpoint), Kashish Mittal (silver medal: MS Powerpoint), Saarthak Jajoria (bronze medal: MS Powerpoint), Dhruv Arora (gold medal: MS Word), Pranit Arora (silver medal: MS Word), Abhishek Biswal (bronze medal: MS Word), Vibhor Sehgal (gold medal: MS Excel) and Akshay Sawhney (silver medal: MS Excel).

DPS R. K. Puram also had the privilege of having one out of the 5 national winners, Dhruv Arora of class 12th, who won a completely sponsored trip to San Diego, California in United States in July 2011, and represented India at the International Championship held there. He was awarded a National Winner certificate, a cash prize of Rs. 51,000; a trophy and an Xbox 360, among other accolades. Ishan Sharma of class 11th finished as the Indian runner-up in the MS Powerpoint category.
