5 August 2014 was a special day for ‘Genesis’- the Biotechnology Club as the students of Class XI and XII got a chance to interact with their alumni in the USA through Video Conferencing.
A webinar was organised in the Biotechnology Lab with Priyamvada Gupta and ShouryaSonkar Roy Burman, the Biotechnology students of DPS R.K.Puram, presently pursuing different courses in the USA.
Priyamvada Gupta, after graduating from Carnegie Mellon, Pittsburgh in Biological Sciences has joined the Santa Clara Law School for Intellectual Property Law Studies.
ShouryaSonkar Roy Burman, a B.Tech (Biological Sciences & Bioengineering) from IIT, Kanpur, is currently pursuing a Ph.D Programme in John Hopkins University, Maryland.
The Principal, Dr D.R.Saini appreciated their efforts and expressed his best wishes for their future endeavours. Ms Anita Singh, Headmistress Classes VI & VII, highlighted how proud DPS R.K.Puram is, of their achievements and they were the role models for other students.
The Biotechnology students cleared a number of queries related to availability of Biotech courses and future prospects, current research areas and how to prepare and apply for these courses.
The session was organised by Ms Niva Chhonkar, the Biotechnology Incharge with technical support from Mr Mukesh Kumar, Head of Department of Computer Science. The students thoroughly enjoyed the session
