Class rep- Dr. Shachindra Sharma

Topic- Ikigai
Date-1.8.17
Ikigai is a Japanese concept that means “a reason for being.” Everyone, according to the Japanese culture, has an ikigai.
Ikigai is about your personal reason for existence. The assembly focussed on our search of self as teenagers, students, daughters, sons and siblings, and various other roles we play.
Being in the senior year, it’s quite common for us to feel stressed about our future after school. Some of us even give up hope if our problems seem too big to us. It is very important to know and act upon what you were born to do which is something we choose to a great extent.
In today’s age, where all we see are the scripted and filtered moments of other people’s lives, and compare ourselves to these seemingly perfect people, self love is crucial. It is very important to know your own worth, and believing that we are all here for a greater purpose.
Ikigai teaches you to come into your own, and as a result, come alive.
