The title of the assembly was ” Vertical Horizon”. The class used this title to symbolize the theme of tolerance. Just as there exists no such thing as a “vertical” horizon ; similarly, one must try to remove the lines that are drawn amongst ourselves. The world and our country today are in a grip of turmoil; we divide ourselves on the basis of gender, religion, profession and more. We, the students of class XI-K, attempted to dissolve these barriers that separate humankind; these invisible ‘vertical horizons’ of our minds. The play, speeches and thought for the day elaborated on this theme and encouraged us to be more tolerant. Through various mediums of expressions like music, dance, and poetry, the students of our class brought out the grace, beauty and the necessity of tolerance in life.
