The assembly centers around the value-laden statement “अतिथिदेवो भव:” which translates to the fact that the guest is equivalent to God.

The class familiarizes the audience with the host- guest relationship. The plays in the assembly depicted how guests may have no fixed date of arrival nor departure and so, they may cause us inconvenience. A guest does need to be considerate enough to inform the host of their arrival prior to it. But it is our duty to embrace the guest irrespective of the inconvenience caused.

The regard accorded to the guest has been a part of the culture and code of conduct of Indian society. When we receive a guest with warmth we become affectionate, altruistic, tolerant and courteous.
