The assembly tells us to focus on the journey, not the destination. Joy is found not in finishing an activity but in doing it. Everything happening around us is very random. We should enjoy the phase as the journey is far more enjoyable than the destination. The students of class VII-A performed Guru vandana, followed by news update, thought of the day, speech, an instrumental performance and an Italian folk dance.

Theme: Fools have failures; The wise, an experience…

Franklin D. Roosevelt said, “Men are not prisoners of fate, but their own minds.” As we move into a more competitive world, we are not only becoming slaves to technology and society but also of our own conditioning. Success, which was earlier linked with satisfaction and learning, is now defined in terms of winning and earning more money. The lack of any of these is termed as failure. We are gradually moving away from the ideals of team spirit and appreciating the worthy opponent. We, as people seem to be forgetting that success and failure are really two sides of the same coin and all it needs is a flip of the coin to change one’s situation. It is thus imperative to reflect and realize that winning is not the only parameter to define if one is successful. There are more important ideas that merit attention such as happiness, contentment, and the experience that one gains. After all, as Paulo Coelho said, “Nothing can substitute experience”.
