“In every seed lies the promise of a forest, it only needs to be nurtured”

The idea of nurturing and conditioning young minds through the process of socialisation in a manner where equal opportunities are offered is encapsulated.

Talking about the International Day of the girl child which is celebrated worldwide on 11thOctober, it becomes essential to recognise the rights of the girls and unique challenges girls face around the world. It is a response to an urgent problem faced by the world today  which is the neglect and devaluation of girls around the world.

Gender is a social construct which hampers growth in a male dominated society .The patriarchal set up of a society subordinates women ideologically making it difficult to think critically. We need to combat the shackles of a regressive society by empowering women with equality. We must value our female population and give them equal education, financial, legislation and professional opportunities to fulfil our dream of a progressive society and nation.
