Annual Psychology Exhibition, ‘Perception of Abnormal Behaviour through the Ages’

Delhi Public School, R.K Puram hosted its Annual Psychology exhibition on 13 May 2014, a lead off event by the Psychology department of the school. The event was inaugurated by the Principal, Dr. D.R Saini and the Vice Principal, Mrs. Shobha Mehta. The exhibition, “Perception of Abnormal Behavior through the Ages” was an attempt to disseminate information to students regarding a subject deemed mysterious, exotic and opaque to most. The exhibition comprised a grand display of interactive boards, and models each providing an insight on different psychological approaches. A Student Research Corner informed the visitors of some of the researches done by the students of psychology based on psychological methodologies. Some interactive exhibits included tests administered by volunteers like the Stroop Effect Test, a psychological test concerned with management of stress levels and a personality assessment test. Volunteers handed out pamphlets and displayed videos depicting aspects of mental health with an aim to increase awareness regarding the stigma attached to it and its societal impact. The highlight of the event was the online “Rorschach Ink Blot Technique “, an online personality test providing an individualistic assessment of one’s mood, family relations and information retaining capacity. The exhibition was attended by students and teachers from Ryan International, Delhi Police Public School, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and Air Force Bal Bharti School. It was coordinated by the Head of the Department of Psychology, Ms. Vithika Rahul along with Ms. Jyotika Chugh. The exhibition an enriching and memorable one for one and all.
