The Annual Interschool Indian Instrumental Music Competition was hosted by Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram in the memory of Swargadeep Kobi Raj, who was an excellent table player on 19 August 2017. Mr. Naushad Ahmed, a renowned tabla player and Mr. Moushin Ali Khan, an eminent sitar player were the judges for the event.
The event commenced recounting Swargdeep’s virtues followed by the address by the Principal, Ms. Vanita Sehgal, who welcomed the participants from 11 schools and emphasized that ‘Life without music is dull’. The event gave numerous children a platform to showcase their talents in the field of Indian music. The mother of Kobi Raj presented a painting to the school as a token of her appreciation. The judges encouraged the participants with their words of wisdom after which the prize distribution took place.
D.P.S. Vasant Kunj won the first position, followed by D.P.S. Rohini in the second position, and Bal Bharati School in the third. All participants were awarded participation certificates.
The vote of thanks was delivered by the Vice Principal, Ms. Padma Srinivasan and the event concluded with the National Anthem.
