Admission Criteria

 

2.1

Online Registration: Tuesday, 20th April, 2021 to  Monday, 26th April, 2021

 

2.2

The registration will only be done through the ONLINE FORM w.e.f. 20th April, 2021. Any application related to admissions submitted before 20th April, 2021 will be considered null and void.

 

2.3

Minimum Age: As per the minimum age mentioned in the table above.

 

2.4

Eligibility: 

  • Successful completion of the previous class (i.e. Class 10).

  • Students, who are not staying with parents in the Delhi-NCR region can not apply as “DAY SCHOLAR”. They will only be considered as “Hostellers”.

 

2.5

Mode of selection: Class 11 admissions will be based on
(i) Merit on the basis of Results of Half Yearly Exam of Class 9th (2019-2020) and PreBoard Exam of Class 10th (2020-2021). 

Submission of following will be must:    

  • Marks (in percentage) of 5 Main Subjects (English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Second Language) in the Half Yearly Exam of Class 9 

  • Marks (in percentage) of 5 Main Subjects (English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Second Language) in the Pre-Board Exam of Class 10. It is mandatory  to mention  Online Mode or Offline mode in the form. Applicants, who have appeared and submitted marks of Offline/InSchool Examination  will have an added advantage in the merit list. 

Note1: Marks should be same as printed in the Report Card of respective exams

Note2: Marks of Final Exam of Class 9 are not considered because some of the schools had Online Exams and some had no Final Exam in the year 2020.

(ii) Verification of documents of shortlisted candidates.

  

Note: Every year, the number of candidates who apply for admission is more than the number of seats available. Therefore, if a candidate is unable to secure a seat, it is in no way a reflection of his/her calibre.

Admission Formalities (For successful applicants only):

 

3.1

School Fee Schedule after admission has been granted

(for both Day Scholars and Hostellers)

 

 

Rs.60,000/- is to be paid online out of the total school fees (approx. Rs.1,80,000/-) plus applicable transport facility opted by the candidate. This amount will be adjusted against the fee for the academic session 2021-2022. The balance amount will be paid in equal instalments. Details will be mentioned in the fee bill which will be issued in the due course of time.

 

3.2

Hostel Fee Schedule (Only for Hostellers)

 

 

A separate transaction of  Rs.1,50,000/- is also to be paid online out of total Hostel fees (Approx. Rs. 3,84,500) for meeting out essential expenditures like housekeeping, security etc. Boarding lodging and other direct expenditures related with hostels will be paid after opening of hostels. This amount will be adjusted against the total hostel fee for the academic session 2021-2022.

 

3.3

Online Enrolment Form duly filled have to be submitted as soon as you are shortlisted for admission along with a sealed envelope labelled with “Registration Number, Name, Father Name, Mother Name” carrying “Physical School Enrolment form” duly filled and signed by the parents of the candidate has to be dropped within 3 days at Gate No 1 of Delhi Public School, Sec 12, R.K.Puram, New Delhi 110022. The sealed envelope should also contain  photocopies of all essential documents, which are listed in the points 3.5 to 3.9.

3.4

Online Hostel Form duly filled have to be submitted as soon as you are shortlisted for admission under Hostel Category along with a sealed envelope labelled with “‘BOYS/GIRL HOSTEL’, Registration Number, Name, Father Name, Mother Name” carrying “Physical  Hostel Form” duly filled and signed by the parents of the candidate has to be dropped within 3 days at Gate No 1 of Delhi Public School, Sec 12, R.K. Puram, New Delhi 110022.

(For Selected Hostellers)

 

3.5

A self attested photocopy of the Class 10 Pre Board Result* Marksheet and Class 9 Half Yearly Result Marksheet will be required to be submitted along with a SELF-CERTIFICATION that the PreBoard Marks mentioned in the form are of (i) Offline/InSchool Mode OR (ii) Online Mode.

At a later stage, you will be called to get the same verified with the Original Marksheets.

* Confirmation of Admission is subject to the final physical verification of marks with Originals. 

 

3.6

Three passport size photographs of the student, and two each of both father & mother.

 

3.7

Self Attested photocopy of residence proof. Any one of the following:

Voters Identity Card / Passport / UID (Aadhar Card) / Ration Card

  • (Original documents must be produced for verification. Head of the family should be either the father or mother in case of ration-card.)

 

3.8

Day Scholar’s Medical Form duly filled and signed by parents and a Medical Officer.

 

3.9

Undertaking form (Day Scholars as well as Hostellers) duly filled and signed by parents.

 

3.10

Character Certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended.

 

3.11

Transfer Certificate (in original), duly countersigned by the Inspector of Schools of the respective area, to be submitted by the 1st week of July 2021.

Important information

 

5.1

Admission to the hostel will be granted for two academic years i.e. 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 (Classes XI & XII). No withdrawal from the hostel will be permitted during the above mentioned period. All Hostellers will have to pay the hostel fee in advance as per the schedule given below. Hostellers will not be allowed to take Private Tuitions / Coaching classes outside the school premises. 

 

5.2

All information with regard to registration and selection will be communicated online on the school website and registered email.

 

5.3

DPS R.K. Puram is a day-cum-boarding school for both boys and girls. Seats in the school hostel are limited, and are granted only to meritorious students. Once admission is granted in the hostel, students will not be permitted to withdraw during the course of the academic session 2021-2022 and 2022-2023. 

No refund will be made during mid-session.

 

5.4

The school provides transport facilities, but there is no guarantee that a seat in the school bus will be made available when the buses are to full capacity or do not ply in the area of residence.

 

5.6

Transport once provided will not be discontinued during the academic session by the parents. However, the school reserves the right to change the school bus route or cancel the transport facility depending on the situation.

 

5.6

Registration of the candidate does not ensure admission. All decisions of the Admission Committee will be final and binding.

 

5.7

Day Scholars and Hostellers will join school as per the schedule provided to them.

 

5.8

Only the registration form, which is submitted online for the session 2021-2022 will be considered as valid registration for admission to Class 11 (2021-2022). All the applications/letters for admission received before the commencement of online registration will be considered null and void.

 

5.9

The school will not entertain any request for change of Stream/Status after selection for admission.

 

5.10

The school reserves the right to change/amend any of the above mentioned schedule and criteria at any point of time (if so required). These changes will be displayed on the school website only. All concerned are requested to keep checking the school website frequently.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR APPLICANTS SELECTED FOR THE HOSTEL

HOSTEL RULES

The following documents / formalities (including information on the student’s weekend visits and “going out schedule”) must be completed on separate forms before the students join the hostel.

H1

An authority letter from the parent giving details of two persons from different families, who will act as local guardians, indicating their names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses along with their photographs.

H2

A health certificate regarding medical history etc. which must be duly checked and signed by a registered medical doctor / school doctor, parents and the concerned student. If a student is allergic to any medicine or has any special medical requirements, it should be mentioned in the medical certificate.

H3

The School uniform requirements must be met with by the parents. A list of articles of clothing and other items are available in the Hostel Rules/Guidelines.

H4

It is obligatory for the Parents / Local Guardians to attend Parent Teacher Meetings (PTM schedule is given in the School Almanac).

H5

Parents / Local Guardians are required to leave a telephone number, email  and residential address in Delhi, for immediate contact, in case of an emergency.

H6

Both the Local Guardians must be present at the time of admission and reporting to the hostel.

H7

The number of photographs mentioned below must be submitted by the hostellers as a part of the admission formalities.

 

(i) Students – 4 Copies

 

(ii) Local Guardians – 4 Copies of each Local Guardian

 

(iii) Father and Mother – 4 Copies of each

 

Kindly Note:

N1

The selected hostel students (who have completed all the admission formalities) will join the hostel as soon as there are instructions from the school in accordance to the directives from DoE and/or Education Ministry to re-start the school in the normal mode.

N2

All applicants selected for hostel accommodation will have to undergo a medical check-up by the school doctor before joining the hostel.

They must bring their personal clothing and all essential items with them, as per the hostel rules.

N3

Parents and local guardians are requested to attend the meeting with the Principal as and when scheduled.

N4

It is mandatory for the local guardians to take complete responsibility for his / her ward in time of sickness / emergency / weekends / holidays and travel etc.

N5

Only married couples, living in a family set-up, with telephone facilities, will be allowed to act as local guardians. No student will be allowed to be a local guardian of a hostel student.

N6

Professional Extra-coaching classes for Entrance Exams will be arranged for the Hostel Students.
