A Virtual Orientation session was held for the parents of students of class XII on 22nd April 2022 and 23rd April 2022 from 5 PM onwards. The Principal, Ms Padma Srinivasan, went around virtually in all the sections and emphasized the cooperation of parents in developing the habit of being regular to School. An increase in the concentration span of the students was the need of the hour. The Vice Principal, Dr Renu Nayar, addressed the issue of academic rigour amongst the students within the four walls of the classroom. She highlighted that in case of any problem, the parent may contact the class teacher or the Class Representative for a solution. The Vice Principal, Mr Naresh MIglani, expressed his concern about using mobile phones in the classroom and informed the parents that they were strictly prohibited. Mr Anil Kathuria, Vice Principal of Humanities stream, stressed that following the Covid norms as Covid is not yet entirely over. The Vice Principal, Mr J.S. Virdi, urged the parent fraternity to keep in touch with all subject teachers and take a regular update about their ward’s performance on a regular basis. The Class Representatives, Dr Anubha Gopal, Ms Richa Aggarwal and Ms Vibha Arora welcomed the parents and students by introducing themselves and asking them to contact them in case of any admin issues. They stressed upon fruitful utilisation of the last academic session of the school for a better future. The Class teachers welcomed the parents by displaying the contact details of all the subject teachers and thereafter each subject teacher gave a brief introduction about their subject along with the books, course content and break up of marks. The session ended by answering the query of the parents. The parents were satisfied that they met all teachers at the beginning of the session itself and took their telephone numbers to be in touch with them. The session was very fruitful.
CLASS XI HOSTEL ORIENTATION PROGRAMME (2022-23)
Hostel Life is a union of diverse cultures and different upbringings, which blends into harmony for a rich and memorable experience.
An orientation programme was organized for class XI hostellers on 10th July 2022 by Delhi Public School, R K.Puram Hostel. The event commenced by offering prayers to the divine with a beautiful dance on Ganesh Vandana performed by Class XII girls and the Gayatri mantra recited by Class XII boys. It was followed by an address by the Principal. The Vice Principals shared their valuable inputs. It was followed by speeches by class XII students. The wardens addressed the gathering and shared with the audience a glimpse of the hostel. The class representatives and the school counsellor wished the students luck for their new academic session. Class XII students welcomed the juniors with choir performances. The vote of thanks was proposed by the Headmistress for the girls and by the Vice Principal for the boys. The programme ended with the National Anthem.
Assembly VIII-A and VIII-B (26-07-2022)
“TOPIC : वृक्ष -जीवन का आधार .
“What we are doing to the forests of the world is but a mirror image of what we are doing to ourselves and to one another.” It is rightly said that “when you plant a tree, you plant a life”. Trees are one of the greatest blessings for humans from mother earth. The most important thing one must remember is that trees do not need us, rather we need them. Apart from the countless benefits they have, trees are certainly our best friends. They are the friends who always give us everything without expecting a single thing in return. The class assembly of 8 A & B reiterated very important fact through their class assembly thereby pledging to adopt sustainability and save trees
The class presentation commenced with the introduction given by Abia Mahajan and Aairah Sultan, followed by the rendition of the prayer by the Class Choir. After this Abhishri and Akshainie presented a Kathak dance recital on Ganesh and Guru Vandana. The Thought for the day was presented in Sanskrit, Hindi and English by Vinita, Akshank and Avani Kumar respectively. Akansh, Naiteek Kashyap and Rishabh Rai updated us about the news and the weather forecast.
The Hindi play enacted by Pia, Akansh, Jyoti, Wageesha, Tejaswi, Aviral, Vanshaj, Humza, Avika, Ritika, Lakshman, Roshan and Anup beautifully highlighted the importance of trees in our day-to-day lives and made the audience pledge to save trees. This was followed by an English skit by Heramb Tripathi, Diya Bhaumik, Arnav Mohan, Anant Jha, Selvi, Vaishnavi Murthy, Yash Vardhan, and Vanya Mehta. Kinjal Gupta played out a very interesting conversation between Man and Tree and reiterated the important role played by trees in maintaining ecological balance and biodiversity.
The Cards and Folders were made by Kinjal, Kamya, Ramya, Smita Bahera, Advika,Abia and Avika .The PowerPoint presentation was made by Shashank Roy. The beautiful board was made by Kinjal and put up with the help of Ramya and Airah. Rudraksha Bora at the keyboard and Harshil with the guitar provided musical accompaniment to the choir.

The school believes that parents and teachers must work together to ensure that optimal teaching and learning takes place. With this in view, the Open House sessions for the parents of Class X were organized on 23rd July 2022 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The parents interacted with the subject teachers on one to one basis, regarding their ward’s performance. Parents were very appreciative of the efforts made by the school and all the teachers. They were given an opportunity to share suggestions and resolve their queries. It was a fruitful interaction.

The Class Assembly started with a heartfelt prayer by Aashni, Abhinav, Aditu, Aishani, Akash, Aryan Jha, Ashad, Avish, Daksh, Hari Bala, Ishant, Malvika, Raunak K, Sanchit, Shaurya, Shivam, Smayan, Sushant and Yashica C after which, the Headmistress, Ms Rashmi Malhotra continued the assembly by seeking the blessings of God. This was followed by Shloka by Abhigyan, Arnav and K Sornapreesan and Thought of the Day by Aryaveer and Ishaan. Headlines of the day were delivered by Akshat, Akshat Sundriyal, Avihan and Gautam. Next were two beautiful poems composed by Aryan Pandey and were recited by Bhavya, Ishaan, Kanika and Sushant. The audience was mesmerized by an Orchestra performance by Aarav, Aaryan Jaiswal, Chinmay, Gauri, Sanyam, Shailly and Shesh. This was followed by Speech by Aryan Pandey and Nikhil. The assembly was concluded by a dance performance by Anahita, Anika, Anshika, Garima, Giana, Gurpriya, Jasnoor, Kuhu, Laasya, Prakriti, Riya, Saanvi, Sara, Shanaya, Swastika, Taanya A., Tanisha, Tanya M, Tapasya and Yashika K. The comperes were Aaditya, Aaryan Jaiswal, Amaira, Akshat, Aryavir, Divyansh, Kenisha and Rushil. The class assembly of class XII V celebrated Poetry as being the true essence of life. Each country has its own poetry, where words are strung together to provide happiness and cooling comfort from the otherwise scorching heat of the challenges of the modern world To begin the assembly we had the prayer ” Itni Shakti hamen dena data.” The shlok was recited and explained by Niket followed by a self composed shayari by Harsh on writing poetry.The thought for the day was by Rishika and Tanima.To update the students with the world we had the news by Divyaaditya ,Meha, Aryamaan,Sunita and Riddhima ,There then was the enactment of two poems depicting two different emotions where one was composed by Muskaan Saxena.The class choir sang melodiously the song ‘scars to your beautiful . The assembly concluded with a graceful fusion dance. The Cards and Folders were made by Amaira and Meha. The Power Point Presentation was made by Muskaan and presented by Gaurang .The E display was made by Meha and the beautiful board was made by Yuvraj,Utsa,Meha,Amaira,Krish . “Topic: Being a Rainbow in Someone’s Cloud
It’s safe to say that at one point or another most of us have experienced dullness, disappointment and unhappiness in our life. But we should never let the sadness of the past, and the fear of our future ruin the happiness of our present.
The class presentation commenced with the Ganesh Vandana by Prarthana and morning prayer by the choir, after which an introduction was given by Tanishqa . This was followed by the news, thought for the day was by Anamika after which there was sloka recital and its translation by Yashika. This was followed by a talk show where a conversation between four friends was used to raise public awareness about the diversity of flora and fauna and the efforts that are required to protect and conserve it, as well as draw attention to its vulnerability. Next was a self-composed poem recitation by Shaurya Sareen (XE) followed by fusion dance by Prarthana and Rakhee. The folders, cards and board for the assembly were made by Anamika, Rakhee and Yashika.
Recent Bulletins were delivered by Kayra (National), Prisha (International), Saksham (Sports) and Atharva (Weather). Tanmay provided food for thought. Rishit then recited a Sanskrit Shloka. People were illuminated with information about the National Van Mahotsav via a talk between Shubhang and Vihaan. The Assembly’s concluding act was a group dance performed by Rithushna and Prisha. The comperes of the program were Yati, Aaahana, Mudit and Aum.

“Topic: RESILIENCE – The Ability to Bounce Back
The assembly of class XII N appreciated and celebrated the people who got up and came back, better and stronger after being pushed down by life. It motivated the students to bounce back and get ready for the life ahead after two years of staying at home. It started with a heartfelt morning prayer by Divyanidhi, Naman, Kabir, Aman, Bhav, Dhwani, Pareena, Ankita, Sheza, Akshi and Aryan. The comperes were Suveer and Gianna. A graceful classical dance by Anousha and Ankita. A very motivating speech was given by Ranbir. A refreshing thought by Aryan, a splendid shloka by Divyanidhi and the news by Aarav and Dhwani. There was a beautiful poem composed and read by Gianna. The panel discussion discussing their life experiences was held by Ranbir, Jai, Aarav, Ruhee and Divyanidhi. There was a melodious western song, “We Are The World”, sung by Anousha, Kamakshi, Shrishti, Ruhee, Pareena, Nandini, Dhwani and Akshi. The eye-catching and attractive invitation cards and folders were made by Pareena, Sheza and Ruhee and the e-invites were designed by Ankita. The stunning PowerPoint presentation was made by Aruj.

“Topic: Celebrating Fervour of Happiness
In the spirit of celebrating various festivals filled with bliss and joy, Class X-A and X-D gave a class presentation on the topic “Celebrating the Fervour of Happiness”
Upholding what Mahatma Gandhi once said and I quote – “Happiness is when what you think, what you say and what you do are in harmony.”
The assembly began with a heartfelt prayer by Ashmit, Jashan, Priya, Areeba, Vidhi Batheja, Sanskriti, Anchal, Isaant, Eshan, Gurtej, Vasu, Aarav Bagga, Palak, Abhinav and Sneh. Then the Principal, Ms Padma Srinivasan welcomed everyone with an eloquent prayer. This was followed by Mayra and Manvi staging a breathtaking Ram Stuti, which was preceded by students, Priyanshi, Haneef, Manas, Yagya, Anshi Verma, Mayra, Aahana, Ayanika, Shahnaz, Mishthi, Hunar, Banisha, Dishita, Abhinav, Reyansh, Ahaan, Aarav Bagga, Rajveer, Kabir, Reyansh performing choir commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Shrish and Anupam enlightened us with the current affairs after which Jasraj and Aadya changed our perspective on life with their thoughts for the day.
Continuing the assembly Anshi Ijral, Sanskriti, Dhriti and Mannat recited an energetic poem giving a strong message on Earth Day. Then the importance of all the festivals was highlighted by Gauri, Shrishti, Shreya Shreyansh and Dev through speeches. After that Astha, Hunar, Dishita, Kabir, Palek, Sakshi, Vandita, Rajveer, Banisha, Reyansh, Yuvraj, Mayra, Ahana, Ayaanika, and Anushka did a magnificent dance choreographed by Mayra depicting Baisakhi.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Anirudh Trivedi. The e-cards, boards, folders and invite cards were created by Haneef, Advika, Tanvi, Vindhya, Shreyansh, Anushka, Samridhi, Manvi, Manas, Anchal, Palak and Shrishti.
