CLASS IX Virtual Orientation Programme

A Virtual Orientation programme was organised for the parents of class IX students on Tuesday 21 April 2020 and on Wednesday 13 May 2020 (New Admissions).

The purpose of the Orientation Programme was to introduce the parents to the respective class teachers and subject teachers as well as to introduce them to the curriculum of the various subjects. 

The Principal, Ms Padma Srinivasan addressed the parents and advised them  to  ensure that their ward attends all the classes regularly and to follow a routine in tough times  . She informed the parents about the yoga ,music and dance classes being  organised for students in the evening so that they feel energised and fresh.

The Headmistress, Ms.Rashmi Malhotra  emphasized on the importance of the discipline to be followed while attending virtual classes in all the virtual rooms. The Class Representatives spoke about the rules that the students needed to follow while attending the virtual classes in order to make them successful 

The Class teachers explained the code of conduct to the parents about virtual ethos to be followed by their ward. Each subject teacher, thereafter introduced themselves and gave a brief introduction of their subject along with providing information about the text-books to be referred , course content etc, for the same. The session ended with the class teachers thanking the parents for participating enthusiastically in the programme and understanding the ethos of the school. 76.9 % of the parents attended the orientation programme on 21 April 2020 and 95.5% of the parents attended the orientation programme on 13 May 2020.

Virtual Orientation Programme for the Parents of Classes VI – VIII

A Virtual Orientation Programme was organized for the parents of the students of classes VI, VII and  VIII on 16, 17 and 20 April 2020 respectively. 

The purpose of the Orientation Programme was to introduce the parents to the respective class teachers and subject teachers as well as to introduce them to the curriculum of the various subjects. The Principal, the Headmistress and the respective Class Representatives  also introduced themselves to the parents.

The class teachers began the session by introducing the general rules of the session. They spoke about the rules that the students had to adhere to while attending the virtual classes in order to help us make them successful. Then, the subject teachers were called on to address the parents. All subject teachers introduced the curriculum of their respective subjects and the ongoing online classes. They shared details regarding the resources being created and shared for the students.

The Principal, Ms Padma Srinivasan addressed the parents and emphasized on the need for  cooperation in these unprecedented times to help the students benefit from these virtual classes. The Headmistress Ms Niva Chhonkar  reiterated the importance of following the rules and maintaining the students’ attendance for virtual classes.

Class X Virtual Orientation Program(2020-21)

An online orientation program was organised for parents of Class X students on 15 April,2020. The orientation program focussed on introducing the parents to the respective teachers,to share the curriculum of various subjects and to acquaint the parents with the framework and processes of the online classes being conducted for the students.

The Principal,Ms.Padma Srinivasan addressed the parents and requested them to ensure that their wards attended  the online classes regularly. The Principal emphasised on the importance of a routine for the students not only on the academic front but also in areas such as physical exercises, spending quality time with family which would give a balance to their daily activities.

The Head Mistress ,Ms Rashmi Malhotra emphasised on the importance of discipline in the online classes and reiterated the need  of involvement of parents in the learning process of their wards.Each subject teacher discussed the curriculum of their respective subject and familiarised parents with the scheme of studies for the current session.

The class teachers conducted the orientation program for parents of students of their section in the respective virtual classrooms and thanked all the parents for taking active participation in the virtual orientation program.

The program witnessed participation from 83% parents.

National Digital Library of India

The Union Ministry of Human Resources is giving an opportunity for the public to utilize the lockdown period for reading. The ministry will give free access to the National Digital Library where over 3,82,00,000 books and periodicals will be available to read.

The digital version of the books and magazines can be read using any digital device including smart phone, computer or tablet. Interested people can log on to the digital library website of the ministry https://ndl.iitkgp.ac.in/

VIRTUAL Orientation Session For Class XII-(2020-21)

A Virtual Orientation session was held for the parents of students of class XII on 13th and 14th April 2020. The parents met the Principal Ms. Padma Srinivasan, the Vice Principal Ms. Renu Nayar ,Class Representatives, Class teachers and the subject teachers in the virtual classrooms. The Principal , Ms Padma Srinivasan introduced the virtual platform for the academic session 2020-21 for delivering lessons with the help of IT experts of DPS RKPuram. She addressed the parents to make sure that their ward attends all the classes regularly and to follow a routine in tough times of lockdown under covid-19 situation. The Vice Principal, Dr. Renu Nayar,  addressed the issue of discipline to be followed while attending virtual classes in all the virtual rooms. She highlighted that in case of any problem regarding login id, password, the parent may contact the Class Teacher or the Class Rep for its solution. The Reps welcomed the parents by stressing upon the importance of virtual disclaimer which had been mailed to the parents in the beginning of virtual session. The Class teachers explained the code of conduct to the parents about virtual ethos to be followed by their ward. Each subject teacher thereafter gave a brief introduction about their subject along with the books, course content and break up of marks. The session ended by answering the query of the parents. The session proved to be fruitful and constructive in bringing the parents closer to the ethos of the school. 72% of parents attended the orientation programme .

Online Content and Classes

The Academic Content, Assignments and Quizzes are provided using Google Classroom for all the classes from VI to X and XII. The same can be viewed by the students using their official email id. Letter for the parents has already gone on official id with instructions and disclaimer.

Online Classes for X and XII already started on 08-04-2020 and VI to IX starting from tomorrow, for which the link will be provided 10-15 mins before the class in the respective subject’s Google Classroom only. Students are advised to join these classes using official email id on Laptop/Tab/Smart Phone.
