Budding Painters of the School

Yati of class X-B gifted a canvas painting done by her to the Principal, Ms.Vanita Sehgal on 21st November 2016. It was displayed in an art exhibition held by the student artists of the school during ‘Art Poetica’.

Namya Parekh of Class-11 was honoured with the Anand Gupta Memorial Award along with a cheque of Rupees 1000/- in the 21st All India Inter DPS Children’s Art Competition 2015. The event was hosted by Delhi Public School, Ranipur, Haridwar.

Aanya Trehan of 9L won in the Art Olympiad 2015. She was a Winner in group C (All Three works ) and was awarded a cash Prize of Rs. 2000/- for each work. Small Hand Big Art , in collaboration with Lalit Kala Akademi and Sir J.J. Institute of Applied Art, powered by The Hindu in School and Hindu Young World, announced the winners of the Annual Art Olympiad 2015-16. These winners were selected by a panel of esteemed judges, based on a rigorous selection criteria. The Art Work of all the winners were displayed at the Exhibition Hall of Sir J.J. Institute of Applied Art from 28th -30th May 2016.



Exhibition of Photographs on JEEVIKA ( Livelihood ) – by Aditya Anmol

Aditya Anmol, a student of class XII M, exhibited photo-stories of the villagers of Bihar at the Arpana Fine Art Gallery. These photographs were taken over a period of two years during a study of the efforts of the poorest of the poor to come out of the trap of poverty. The story also captures the role of government through the JEEVIKA Project by encouraging the formation of Self Help Groups and their financial inclusion.

The exhibited photographs is being acquired by Oxford Policy Management, an international development consulting firm which aims to help low- and middle-income countries achieve growth and reduce poverty and disadvantage through public policy reform.

The exhibition was widely covered in print as well as online media. The Times of India has published an interview with Aditya.

Aditya has won all the interschool photography competitions he participated in on behalf of DPS R.K.Puram. His photograph has been exhibited in “Nicefoto: an international celebration of amateur photography” in the Habitat Center, New Delhi. Aditya is a student with multi-faceted talent. He participated in the State Level Air Pistol Shooting Competition and the Rubik’s Cube Indian National Championships.

DPS R.K.Puram Awarded India’s Best School

Delhi Public School, R.K.Puram has been rated India`s best school 2016-17 among deserving schools in India (Jury’s Choice Award) by Education Today. The Awards Ceremony will be held in Bangalore on 10th December 2016.



Navika Chhauda – India Book of Records Title Holder

Navika Chhauda, studying in Class XI –L has authored a book “Nous Parlons francais Dans la Bibliotheque Publique!” featuring her Community service in Teaching French Language, along with the experiences and testimonials of her students.

The India Book of Records has awarded her with a certificate, a trophy and a memento for being an extraordinary personality in this field. Her attempt has been approved by the India Book of Records and now Navika has been honored with the Title of Record Holder.

The noble work done by Navika was also covered in the Newspaper, Hindustan (hindi).
The book was launched by Special Officer on duty to the LG, Mr Ajay Chaudhry and the DCP, south east in Ansari Hall. It was also covered in the media -in Zee Salam and ETV news channel.
The Author has shared her beautiful journey of teaching French to the girls of age group of 12 to mid 30s of Okhla Jamia locality.It was a challenging task which these girls made possible with their dedication and enthusiasm. The main purpose of writing this book is to spread awareness among her fellow friends to
encourage community service.

Navika is also achiever in other fields – she has done a Diploma in Kathak, she has cleared DELF (the elementary level) exam in French language, she is a violinist from Trinity College of London, and presently she is the Student Council member of class 11th.



Battles & Betrayals


Tanya is the author of the historical fiction “Battles and Betrayals” She is 13 years and presently studying in class nine. She began writing this book in 2014 when she was merely 11 years old. She has scored 10 CGPA all theses years. She has travelled and lived in various cities since childhood namely, Bangalore, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad and Indore, her work reveals the richness of the multicultural exposure she has got. The epic saga of Mahabharata has inspired her the most. She wants to give her thoughts flight and write more novels in the Mythology and fiction category. She has already started writing her second Novel.

A glimpse of the story:
A race to get the throne, a curse inflicted on her, an ally who is not ready to trust her and the numerous battles that arise. The brave heiress of Magadheera who has been brought up with love and affection by her father, now after his death has to face the vicious world and confront a hidden foe among the once she had once trusted. Now, it is up to her to prove herself worthy of the throne and save her subjects from the tyranny of the malicious foe, which has deceptively captured her throne.

DPS Society Chairman meets the Winners of ISSDC

The Chairman of DPS Society, Mr.V.K.Shunglu met the students who received the Gold Medal for winning the International Space Settlement Design Competition held by NASA in July, 2016. These winners were felicitated in the Scholar Badge function of Class 12th on the 4th of November 2016.

The Chairman interacted with these young Space Scientists who are students of Classes 10th to 12th along with the Principal, Ms.Vanita Sehgal and the Teacher Coordinator, Mr.Anil Verma. The Principal also showed him the trophy which they had won for the school.
