The greatest power that we humans possess is the power to think. This is what makes us different. Cogito ergo sum is the philosophical principle which emphasises that one’s existence is demonstrated by the fact that one thinks- we think, therefore we exist. I think, therefore I am.

The famous French philosopher and Mathematician Rene Descartes, known as the father of Modern Philosophy built this theory beginning with the one thing that he knows to be free of doubt, and that is thought process. Senses can lie or manipulate but to entertain doubt is to have thoughts and thoughts lead to existence. He also proposed that the mind and body were two separate and distinct entities, but even the body was not so certain a thing as the mind, because, like every as far as our mind lets us.

Remember, what we believe, we can achieve. Never give up and have confidence in whatever you do.

Honesty refers to the quality of being honest, truthful and sincere. An honest man is a fearless and courageous. He does not bow his head before others. He can face any situation in life with courage and confidence. A dishonest man thinks that he will become rich by dishonest means but this is not right. An honest man may be in trouble for want of money. But he will be happy in the end. Money or wealth got through dishonest means does not last long. We earn it today and waste it tomorrow. A dishonest man is fearful, immoral and corrupt. He has no internal happiness. An honest man may be poor, but he is fearless, happy and content. He is respected by all but a dishonest man is hated in the society. So we should all believe in the saying ‘HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY’.

Youth: the next generation who are to inherit the world. They possess a lot of energy, ideas and innovative spirit, which goes waste. There can only be progress in the society if the youth’s ideas and abilities are coupled with the experience and wisdom of the elders. The term ‘youth’ needs to be reinvented to harness their full abilities and usher in a brave new world.

Beauty rests in those souls who have the gift of finding joy wherever they go, whenever they go; leaving an aura of it behind when they leave. We, XI-D believe in passing on the happiness somebody else gave us. Because love and happiness have no meaning till they are shared;till they are spread.
