CBSE Student Global Aptitude Index (SGAI)

September 15, 2011

Dear Parents (Class X)

This is to bring to your notice, vide CBSE circular No. 64 dated September 9, 2011, that the second edition of the CBSE conducted Student Global Aptitude Index (SGAI), will be held on January 22, 2012.

CBSE SGAI is designed for students of Class X in CBSE affiliated schools. It is a simple paper and pencil indicator with multiple choice items. The duration is about 2-2.5 hours. It will broadly assess:

• Scientific Aptitude
• Numerical Aptitude
• Social Aptitude
• Behavioural Science Aptitude
• Art Aptitude
• Interest Profile

CBSE SGAI is a collection of aptitude indices along with a facilitator manual for generating interest areas amongst students for requisite career planning. It has been customized to suit the Indian context and unlike the conventional Aptitude Tests, which indicate professional orientations, the CBSE SGAI will indicate subject orientations at the +2 level.

CBSE SGAI is an optional assessment to measure the aptitude and interest of the students of Class X and to help the students and parents in making informed subject choices in Class XI. However, it should only be taken as an indicator or a facilitator.

The fee for the CBSE SGAI is Rs. 100 (one hundred) per student.

You are requested to read the complete circular on the CBSE website www.cbse.nic.in for full details.

Please fill the form given below and submit it to the respective Class Teachers by September 19, 2011, along with the fee, as the school has to register the names of interested students next week.
