French Exchange Programme

Studying French is not just about learning a language but also about discovering a country, its people and its culture. To this end, DPS R.K.Puram encourages its students to participate in various exchange programmes.

The second French exchange programme between Delhi Public School, R.K.Puram and Lycée St. Ambroise , Chambéry took place in October 2010. A group of 25 students accompanied by two teachers, M.Pierre Guillot and Mme Nadine Roux Michelot arrived in Delhi on the 20th October. They were hosted by students of our school. The visiting students attended classes with their hosts and were also taken sight-seeing to many places including India Gate, Akshardham, Delhi Haat and Lotus Temple and spent many enjoyable days participating in the activities of the Indian teenagers.

Another interesting feature of the exchange programme this year was a friendly football match played between our school football team and the visitors. The class 10 students who watched the match cheered both teams on.

On 28th evening, there was a cultural programme. The Indian students presented a French song and two dances while the French students presented a film on their region followed by demonstrations of Gymnastics, Judo and Juggling. They also performed a group dance. The audience enjoyed and appreciated every bit of the performance.

The French visitors left for Agra and Jaipur on 29th October and for France on 2nd November.
